SIC: Race calendars and tickets announced

THE Sepang International Circuit (SIC) has officialised the calendar for 2016 and ticket prices for the main international races of the year, including the Motul FIM World Superbike Championship 2016 (WSBK Malaysia 2016), the Formula 1 Malaysia Grand Prix (2016 F1 Malaysia Gran Prix) and the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix (2016 Malaysia MotoGP).

The pricing for 2016 includes new features such as child tickets for the F1, discounts for disabled spectators as well as revised ticket pricing for the WSBK.

SIC is offering a one-month Super Early Bird promotion for WSBK and F1 from Jan 12 to 15 this year. Disabled event go-ers can purchase special tickets at half price for all races, whereas child tickets will be offered at 50 percent discount during the promotional period.

WSBK (May 13 – 15 2016)

Tickets will start at RM38 for the K1 Grandstand and RM88 for the Main Grandstand. Normal prices have been reduced as much as RM142 for the Main Grandstand Paddock Access ticket compared to 2015.

While tickets will be sold at normal rates from April 1 to May 15, Maybank and Bank Mandiri customers can still enjoy a 20 percent discount.

F1 Malaysia Grand Prix (Sept 30 – Oct 2 2016)

Main Grandstand tickets will be priced from RM467 to RM1,877 in various seating areas.

Grandstand K1 tickets are priced at RM700, Grandstand F tickets at RM297, whereas Star Grand (Hillstand B), Hillstand C2 Covered and Hillstand K2 Uncovered tickets at RM183, RM170 and RM85 respectively.

Also available for F1 fans are Special VIP Tribune tickets, with Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull Tribune tickets to be announced soon. The Early Bird discount of 20 percent will be offered from February 16 to 18. Maybank and Bank Mandiri customers, too, can enjoy 20 percent discount off standard ticket rates from August 18 to Sept 29 (excluding Hillstand C2 and K2 tickets).

Malaysia MotoGP (Oct 28 – 30 2016)

Standard ticket prices will range from RM318 for a Premier Roving pass to RM42 for a C2 Covered Hillstand ticket.

Tickets for the Main Grandstand, K1 Grandstand and F Grandstand are priced at RM212, RM117 and RM85 respectively. Meanwhile, tickets for the Marc Marquez Tribune and VR46 Tribune are selling for RM265 and RM170 respectively.

Fans can enjoy Early Bird ticket saving of up to RM63 for purchases made between January 12 and March 21. Maybank and Bank Mandiri customers will get 20 percent discount from Sept 15 to Oct 27, whereas Shell employees are entitled to 10 percent discount from July 1 to Oct 27.

However, C2 Hillstand tickets are not eligible for any discount.

 

  • Two-time rider Jakub Kornfeil and rookie Adam Norrodin will represent the Drive M7 SIC Racing Team. The group will be riding the Honda NSF250RW this year.
  • Muhammad Zulfahmi Khairuddin will be participating in the Supersport category in the WSBK.
