Those intending to get a new Proton better do it before 15 February 2016, as Proton has just announced that their cars will cost more, between RM312.00 to RM2021.00 depending on which model.
Citing increased cost due to certain components which required imported raw materials to complete the car, these purchases are made in foreign currency, and the performance of the Ringgit against the U.S. Dollar has not been been at the levels required to sustain existing prices.

Meanwhile, to spur the sales of their cars leading up to Chinese New Year, Proton has also announced that their Lunar New Year promotion which includes a rebate of RM6,000.00 on selected cars in their 2015 inventory as well as a 30% offer oo all merchandises, will be good till the end of the new year celebrations.
Additionally, it is also offering a RM3,000.00 rebate to all existing Proton car owners intending to buy an additional Proton automobile. The 2nd car rebate expires end of March 2016.
