The 2015 Toyota Fortuner receives redesigned headlamps and rear combination lamps with new dark bezel for a sportier look. The bolder appearance also comes courtesy of tweaked outer lens surrounding the projector headlights.
Found at the corners of the front bumper are daytime running lights to improve visibility of the vehicle to road users.
The flexible seating arrangement allows greater cabin space to accommodate up to seven passengers.
The 2015 Fortuner comes with the optional DVD-Audio-Video Navigation (DVD-AVN) system and it works well with Android and iOS smartphones using WiFi to allow Internet access from the head unit’s built-in Internet browser application.
There is also Voice Recognition for the audio, phone and navigation systems as well as a reverse camera with a wide angle view.
The navigation system contains digital maps for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and it is programmed with the locations of all Toyota sales and after-sales outlets. A gyro speed sensor is also included to provide guidance for drivers who are experiencing GPS signal loss.
Another optional accessory available with the Fortuner is the Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system which comes in two versions – the monitor alone (which interfaces with the DVD-AVN system) and the RSE (which comes with a ceiling-mounted monitor and integrated DVD player).
In addition, customers may opt to get a portable tyre pump which makes it easier to re-inflate the tyre in the event of slight pressure loss at the convenience of home or at a remote location where a service station is out of reach.
The Fortuner will roll into the Malaysian market in two new colours – Attitude Black and Grey Metallic – joining the existing Medium Silver Metallic, Solid White and Silver Metallic.
Released in four variants – the 2.7V Petrol, 2.7V Petrol TRD Sportivo, 2.5G Diesel and 2.5G Diesel TRD Sportivo – the new Toyota Fortuner is priced in the range of RM172,122 and RM179,841, and comes with a three-year (or 100,000km) warranty.
