KOREAN automaker, Hyundai has hired former BMW M engineering chief Albert Biermann oversee its performance car development as well as that of its subsidiary Kia.
Biermann, 57, has been appointed as the head of vehicle testing and high performance development, Hyundai said in a statement.
“I could not be more excited to join Hyundai Motor Group. It is a company I have watched closely as it has taken on its key competitors sand quickly established a strong customer base in Europe,” said Biermann.
Biermann, who will join the company in April, will be involved in Hyundai’s new sports car or 2011’s Kia GT concept as well as the next-generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
