TAKING time off in-between Free Practise sessions on Friday for this weekend’s World Superbike races, Ducati Superbike riders Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano were at the Naza Ducati booth in Sepang’s Welcome Centre area to unveil the 1199 Panigale S Championship Edition.
The 1199 Panigale is a mould-breaker and complete reinvention of Ducati’s sporting motorcycle, featuring a “frameless” monoque chassis coupled with “Superquardro” L-Twin engine and the very latest in electronic rider aids which include three fully-integrated riding modes (Ride-by-wire) – Ducati Traction Control, Engine brake Control, Ducati Quick Shift, triple stage ABS and Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES).
With a reduced dry weight of just 166.5 kg in comparison to its heavier Ducati Superbike predecessors, the 1199 Panigale achieves outstanding power-to-weight ratios and manoeuvres with ride-enhancing agility. It has a Bore & Stroke of 112mm x 60.8mm and a maximum horsepower of 195hp @ 10, 750 rpm, with torque at 13.5kgm @ 9,000 rpm.
The 1199 Panigale Championship Edition is being offered at RM160,888 and is limited to just 10 units in Malaysia.
