AGGRESSIVE promotional campaigns by a number of companies to meet year-end sales targets has seen December motor vehicle sales improve by 16.9 percent over the previous month.
The Malaysian Automotive Association said in its latest month sales report released on Friday that a total of 9,347 units, the highest monthly total industry volume for the year, were sold in December.
This was also 6.9 percent more than the corresponding month in 2013.
The bad news is the MAA expects a dip in January sales given December’s “excessive” year-end offers.
It expects improvement in February as car companies gear up promotional campaigns for Chinese New Year.
