INVESTMENT company, Bollore plans to send €150 million (RM 643 million) on building a network of 16,000 charging stations in France over the next four years.
This follows a recent government announcement that it will phase out diesel fuel use over the next few years.
“The completed network would mean no one in the country would be more than 40km away from a charging station at any time,” company chief executive Vincent Bollore said.
Green Car Reports also said the French government was considering raising the maximum rebate on new electric cars or hybrids from €6,300 to €10,000, effectively supporting the Bollore project.
French Economy and Finance Minster Emmanuel Macron reportedly said Bollore could get tax relief for its charging stations on public highways.
