Nissan has introduced the all new third generation Serena multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in Indonesia, priced between IDR 348 million to IDR 398 million.
There will be three variants on offer - the base 2.0X, mid range 2.0 Highway Star and the top of the range 2.0 Highway Star Panaromic.
Power comes from a 2.0 litre MR20 engine, paired to a CVT.
Standard features include automatic climate control, roof mounted rear air-conditioning vents, 6-inch touch screen DVD audio visual head unit, motorized 10-inch roof mounted rear entertainment system, engine push-start button, ECO driving mode, cruise control, powered left sliding door and dual front airbags.
Highway Star models benefit from additional features like powered sliding doors on both sides, Xenon headlamps, side and curtain airbags and a reverse camera.
Highway Star Panaromic models, as its name suggests, gets a full panaromic glass roof.
PT Nissan Motor Indonesia aims to sell 5,000 units of the Serena per month.
Teddy Irawan, Vice President Director Sales of PT Nissan Motor Indonesia, said All-New Serena is the third generation of Serena in Indonesia, which is expected to become the market leader in Indonesia's MPV segment, especially in the medium class.
The Indonesian market Serena is manufactured at Nissan's plant in West Java, Indonesia. Between now to 2014, Nissan will be investing 33 billion Japanese Yen to expand its annual production capacity from 150,000 vehicles to 250,000 vehicles.
Takayuki Kimura, President of Nissan Motors Asia Pacific Co. Ltd., said the new plant is expected to operate at the end of this year for the domestic market and Asian export market.
