Honda is expected to premier the next generation Honda City in late 2013, with sales commencing in early 2014. Not much else is known, but we do expect Honda to preview the next generation City at the December 2013's Thailand International Motor Expo.
Within Honda associates, the City is referred to as 'project 2CT.'
Arch-rival Toyota will be launching the next generation Vios sedan slightly earlier, with sales in Thailand to begin sometime around the first half of 2013. Toyota will preview the all new Vios a March 2013's Bangkok International Motor Show.
Chinese automotive portal Sohu Autos have published a set of photos which it says point to the 2CT Honda City. We cannot verify the authenticity of the pictures. It looks rather big for a City. Plus, it is quite unusual to fit projector headlamps for a model in this class and the jewel-like finishing tail lamps look expensive.
Personally, it looks more like a production version of the Honda Concept C, which is supposed to be a C-plus segment sedan, fitting between the Civic and Accord.
For now we will not read too much into this set of pictures yet.
But if you are interested in a City, late 2013 is a good time to snap up some good bargains.
