The 22nd Borneo Safari will be held from 28 October until 4 November 2012, with Isuzu the official media vehicle supplier for the event.
As the chosen vehicle for the event, the Isuzu D-Max will be tasked with ensuring that members of media are transported to the heart of the action throughout the duration of the off-road event.
According to CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Kimitoshi Kurokawa, the Borneo Safari has been a formidable challenge and creates the ideal platform for Isuzu to display the D-Max's prowess as a capable off-road machine.
"We are once again pleased to play a major role in this year’s Borneo Safari. It is an honour to have been invited by the organisers to once again ensure that the media are able to carry out their duties comfortably and efficiently from the cockpits of the highly-capable Isuzu D-Max."
"We are also pleased to have been named the diamond sponsor of this year’s event. We believe that as the premier 4x4 event in the region, the Borneo Safari shares many synergies with our Isuzu products as both place a strong emphasis to keep going, even in the face of adversity. I congratulate the organising committee for bringing this event to a greater level by introducing more exciting elements into this year’s event," Kurokawa continued.
Traversing 1,000 kilometres across the slopes of Mount Kinabalu, the latest running of the Borneo Safari is expected to pose a greater challenge to competitors and fans alike.
According to Isuzu, the two D-Maxes that will lead the media convoy along the journey will be the same units used in last year's event. The organisers of the event unanimously named the Isuzu D-Max ‘Vehicle of the Year’.
